Our Drive for Real Adventures

OutdoorX stands for reliable equipment that delivers on its promises under the open sky. We combine functional design with durable materials so you can focus entirely on what matters: nature and your experience.

Robustness as a Foundation

Every product undergoes a stress test under real conditions. From seam strength to weather resistance, we rely on components that remain dependable even after many trips.

Effect: You save time and money because you can rely on your equipment – without constant replacement.
Function Over Facade

Our development begins with the question: What do you really need on the go? This leads to thoughtful details like easily accessible pockets, well-designed carrying systems, and versatile cooking solutions – without unnecessary gimmicks.

Effect: You carry only the essentials, but exactly the right things – for more lightness and efficiency on your route.
Sustainability Through Longevity

A backpack that lasts for years is more sustainable than three cheap models. We use tear-resistant fabrics, stainless metals, and repairable components so your equipment doesn't have to be discarded after one season.

Effect: You reduce waste and conserve resources – without compromising on performance.

Robust. Functional. At Home Outdoors.

We are OutdoorX – your partner for thoughtful equipment that truly holds up under the open sky. No compromises, no unnecessary frills. Only gear that serves its purpose and prepares you for every adventure.

Since our founding, we have pursued a clear standard: equipment that works under real conditions. We test every product ourselves on multi-day tours, in rain and cold, on rocky paths and at high altitudes. For us, the latest gimmick doesn't matter; what counts is reliable function – day after day. Our team consists of experienced mountain hikers, bivouac specialists, and occasional campers. This mix helps us develop products that withstand extremes while also convincing in everyday use. From the insulated bottle to the tent – every piece has a real purpose for us. We work with materials that are durable and can be repaired. Because good equipment shouldn't end up in the trash after one season. Our focus is on functionality, clear design, and fair pricing. This keeps the emphasis on what matters: your experience in nature.

Our Development

OutdoorX began as a small idea in a garage and grew into a staple for functional equipment. Every step was marked by tangible decisions – not visions, but concrete problems we wanted to solve.

From the first waterproof seam to the series of robust backpacks: We learned that consistency and thoughtful details count more than loud promises. Today, both tour hikers and mountain guides trust us equally.

2016

Founded with a focus on functionality

Three friends developed the first prototype of a backpack with integrated rain protection. The first 200 units were sold within two weeks – without advertising, only through word of mouth in the local climbing scene.

2018

First in-house production

After constant supply bottlenecks from suppliers, we built a small manufacturing facility in Lower Austria. Control over seams, straps, and buckles meant less waste and better durability – a decisive step.

2020

Material switch to recycled nylon

In light of growing waste mountains in the Alps, we converted our entire backpack line to recycled ripstop nylon. The changeover took nine months, but the breaking strength remained identical – a clear signal to the industry.

2022

Opening of the test center in Salzkammergut

Instead of relying on lab tests, we focus on real conditions: our own terrain with rock, forest, and streams, where every product is tested by experienced outdoor guides before market launch. Since then, we have recalled and improved four series before they reached the market.

2024

Award for sustainable production

The Austrian environmental award for resource-conserving manufacturing confirmed our path. At the same time, the team grew to 45 employees – all with their own outdoor experience, many from mountain rescue or as certified hiking guides.
